Originally a small lake dug by Maharana Jai Singh in 1678 AD, it was enlarged by Maharana Fateh Singh. In 1889 AD, the Duke of Connaught, the third son of Queen Victoria, laid the foundation stone for its embankment. The lake has an excellent drive along its bank.
